Yorkshire Not Calling on the services of Johnny Wardle

Johnny Wardle, former Bramptonlan, Yorkshire and England spin bowler, who has been told that Yorkshire will not be calling on his services at the end of the season.

Wardle is one of 17 players to form the M.C.C. party to go to Australia, this winter.  Aged 35, Wardle has taken more than 1,800 wickets in his first class career which began in 1946.

He has twice toured the West Indies, went to Australia in 1954,-55 and to South Africa inn 1956-57. He has played in 28 Tests and his benefit Iast year brought him more than £8,000.
