Wombwell Architect to Shropshire

Mr. David Henry Roberts, architect to the Wombwell U.D.C. in connection with the housing scheme, has been appointed, out of 27 applicants, to the position of architect to the Whitchurch (Shropshire) Urban District Council.

He has already taken up his new duties, and will leave Wombwell permanently as soon as he has disposed of his residence.

The Whitchurch U.D.C. have just commenced the construction of 52 working class houses.

Mr. .Roberts was educated at Bebington College, Cheshire, and was articled to a Shrewsbury firm.

When still quite a young man he was appointed the surveyor to the estate office of the Earl of Ancaster and Lord Carrington, at Llanrwst, North Wales, and later became assistant architect and surveyor at the county Education, Office for Cardiganshire at Aberystwyth..

He came to Wombwell in 1912 as assistant to the late Mr. John Robinson whom he later succeeded now in practice.
