Fiddler–Popplewell

On Saturday, at Wombwell Parish Church, Miss Annie Popplewell, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Popplewell, 7, John Street, Wombwell, was married to Mr. George Thomas Fiddler, son of the late Mr. G. Fiddler, Becknoll Road, Brampton Bierlow.
The Rector officiated.
The bride wore white ring velvet, with wreath and veil, and carried red carnations and white lilies of the valley.
Five bridesmaids, Misses Barbara Durham, Betty Durham, Elsie Beaumont, Gladys Beaumont, and Rona Cutts, looked charming in dresses of blue silk. They carried muffs and had blue caps to tone.
A little page boy, Major Durham, was in Scotch plaid and kilt.
The best man was Mr. Clifford Beaumont, and the groomsman Mr. Geo. Wright.
The bridesmaids and page received wristlet watches from the bridegroom.
The honeymoon is being spent in London. The bridegroom, who is in the Royal Artillery, was married in the uniform of his regiment.
A reception was held at the Halfway House Hotel, Wombwel
