Myers–Larvan
Miss Joyce Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Myers, of 41, Gower Street, Wombwell, was married at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday to Mr. Patrick Larvan, only son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Larvan, Snape Hill, Darfield. The bridegroom’s parents are well-known business people. Father Goaley officiated.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a heavy self-figured satin gown with cowl neck, and a richly embroidered veil which formed a train attached to a cluster of camellias. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and fern.
Six bridesmaids were Misses Catherine and Evelyn Larvan, in moss green silk and mauve taffeta respectively, both having matching net shoulder veils and floral headdresses; Mary Crossley in mauve satin; Ada Smith in green satin; Irene Keevers in pale blue silk; and Kathleen Dawson in pink silk. Each had a matching shoulder veil and floral headdress, and all carried bouquets of anemones.
Mr. B. Thornton was best man and Mr. F. Myers groomsman. The bride was presented with a horseshoe by Alan Myers.
A reception was held at the Ship Inn, Wombwell.
