Runaway Horse At Wombwell
Two children, Jessie Wade (11) and Sallie Conroy (6), were severely injured through being knocked down a runaway horse and trap, in Blythe Street, Wombwell.
The animal took fright, and ran almost a mile through busy streets, and collided with a wall before it fell, exhausted and injured.
A wheel of the trap passed over the foot of the girl Conroy, and the girl Wade was picked up unconscious with head injuries.
The horse, it was stated, was owned in Parkgate.
