Pin-Up Girl
Margery Rawling, Wombwell Singer will be Dearne District operatic Society leading lady in their production of “New Moon” in April as a novel distinction of which she is very proud. She is known among the prisoners of Wakefield jail as their “pinup girl.”
She makes frequent visits there is a member of various concert party and gets a great deal of pleasure out of it. After singing to an audience of roughly 700 in a magnificent concert hall at the prison she usually goes out to entertain the “trusties” In a country camp. “They are a marvellous lot,” she said. “I have I never been to a place where there is so much spontaneous appreciation.”
She goes to the prison three or four times a year and gives her services at many other institutions.
