Obituary – Walter Musgrave

May 1932

Mexborough & Swinton Times, May 6 1932

The funeral of Mr. Walter Musgrave, husband of Mrs. Sarah Emma Musgrave, 88, Church Street, Jump, took place at the Jump Cemetery on Saturday, Mr. W. Charlesworth officiating.

The death of Mr. Musgrave at the early age of 34 was a particularly sad one, that stirred the sympathy of the village. Several years ago he suffered spinal injuries in an accident at Elsecar Main, —and since then was unable to walk. He bore his misfortune with a fortitude that endeared him to many friends.

He was associated with, the Wesleyan Musgrove. Reform Church, and whenever possible was wheeled to the services there. A. large number of members or the church and residents lined the family mourners at the burial service in the church before the interment. Mr. W. R. Charlesworth officiated.

Mr. Musgrave was a native of Jump, and a member of an old local family. A widow and family of young children are left.
