Mr Joshua Silverwood, of 20, Main Street. Wombwell, who died last week, was  well-known in local cricketing circles.

He played for Mitchell Main as a stumper in 1892, and later was associated with Irving Washington and “Bob” Needham, both of whom played for the same team, In later life Mr. Silverwood retained an active interest in the club.
