What is believed to be a record draw for the country from one shaft in one shift was made at Maltby Main Colliery last Friday, when in a 7-hour shift coal, weighing 2,893 tons 16 cwt. was drawn in 371 draws. This is a record for the colliery. The shaft is 819 yards deep.
Mr. Pierce Finn, formerly with the Manvers Main Collieries Ltd., who has been at the Brixworth Works of the Metropolitan Brick Co. for the past ten months, has been appointed manager of the company’s largest works, the Crown Brickworks, Enfield, Middlesex, which is equipped with the most modern machinery and plant.
