Inquest on Tom Robinson
An inquest was held at Barnsley on Monday on Thomas Robinson (62), steward of the Conservative Club, Wombwell, and a former Mitchell Main cricketer, who died in the Beckett Hospital, Barnsley, on Friday.
Mrs. Harriet Robinson (wife), said her husband hurt his arm early this year when he fell down the cellar steps.
Thomas Robinson (son), said that after the fall he noticed a slight swelling on his father’s right wrist. On April 6th he hurt his arm again through knocking it against a door. He was treated by Dr. Jardine, after which he was taken to the Beckett Hospital and operated upon. He then came home, but after staying at home seventeen days was again taken to the hospital, and he died there on Friday.
Dr. E. W. Blackburn gave evidence of a post-mortem examination, and after hearing this the Coroner adjourned the inquiry until Dr. Jardine could he called to give further evidence.
