Mexborough continued their run of wins on Saturday when they beat Cortonwood at Brampton by 82 runs. L. Dawson helped Wilkinson to take the score to 28 for two wickets before Wilkinson was caught for 13. A third wicket partnership by Dawson and D. Brown put up 93 for three.
Mullen made 38 and G. Ingham 25. Mexborough declared at 218 for eight (L. Dawson 52, D. Brown 42). Brampton’s first six wickets fell for 45, but a stand by Wooley (47) stopped the rot and the last wicket fell at 136 (Denton 21).
For Brampton, Wilkes took 3 wickets for 49 runs, and Scott 3 for 40. S. Padley bowled very well for Mexboro’, taking 6 for 26, and Mullen had 4 for 55 . G. Ingham kept wicket well in place of Guest.
