Colonel Mitchell’s Will.
£1,000 for Servants.
The late Colonel Thomas Wilfred Howe Mitchell, 5th York and Lancaster Regiment, of Sandygate House, Wath-upon-Dearne, civil and mining engineer, chairman and managing director of the Mitchell Main’ Colliery Co., Ltd., chairman of the South’ Yorkshire Coal Owners’ Association, a director of the Carlton Main Colliery Co. and of the Hodroyd Coal Co.. Ltd., a J.P. for the West Riding, who died on the 9th March last, left estate of the gross value of £107,135, with net personalty of £92,388.
The testator authorised his executors, in their discretion, to expend a sum nut exceeding £1,000 for the benefit of his servants, and he left £300 each to his nephews and nieces’ -Georgina Musgrave Wilkinson, Joseph Mitchell. Thomas Mitchell. Robert Knight, Kate Knight. Jack Mitchell, and Kitty Mitchell, £25 to Herbert Spence as executor; his household and personal elects, horses, carriages. motors, and consumable stores to his wife, and his residence to her for life, with the remainder to his daughter Marjorie.
The residue of his property he left as to one-half to his wife, and one-half to his said daughter. directing that one-half of his daughter’s share should be retained upon trust for ‘her benefit.
