Jump Soldier’s Death.

On Wednesday, March 12,the death occurred of ex-Sergt Rill, from influenza and pneumonia, at Arundel View, Jump. He had been discharged with wounds received in France in March, 1917.

Sergt. Hill joined the 2foth York and Lancs. in 1915, and was promoted Sergeant in Nov. 1916. He was drafted with the 62nd Division to France on January 14th, 1917, and was wounded in the left thigh by shrapnel on March 7, 1917.

He received his discharge on December 21st, 1917, since which he has done light work at Wombwell Main Colliery. The funeral took place on Saturday at Hemingfield Cemetery, the Rev. E. J. Ives-Lacy officiating.

Deceased leaves a wife and two small children, who could not attend the funeral on account of influenza. Several of deceased’s family were absent from the same cause.
