Wombwell Town Football Club
A general meeting of this club was held the other evening, at the Horse Shoe Inn, Wombwell.
Out of 18 ordinary matches played 11 were won, 5 losst, and 2 drawn. Goal scored for 46; against 35.
The second team played 15 matches, winning 12, losing two and scoring 49 goals to 25. This team won the Barnsley Junior Cup scoring 27 goals to 9.
The first team has been elected to the Hallamshire league and the second team has entered the South Yorkshire league.
Next season the club will play for the Sheffield Challenge Cup, Sheffield Minor Cup, and Barnsley Charity Senior and Junior cups.
