Speedway Rider Hurt
Arthur Abbott the Cradley Heath rider, was taken Barnsley Beckett Hospital last night after a bad spill in a best pairs competition at Wombwell Speedway.
The only rider win all his four races was Alf Elliott, of Sheffield, who with his club mate, Gerry Williams, scored 18 points. Len Williams and Bernard Thomas, of Sheffield, were second with 18 points.
