Private Mark C. Reynolds (22), son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Reynolds, of 3, Brampton Road, Wombwell, is officially reported missing in the Middle East.

Since receipt of the communication the parents have received a Christmas card from him.

Reynolds is an old boy of  Park Street Council  School, Wombwell, and when he joined up in November, 1939, he was working underground    at Dearne Valley Colliery as a machineman.

The following February he was in Palestine, where he celebrated his 21st birthday. He came unscathed through battles in Greece and Crete.

Reynolds was well-known in physical culture circles.
