Wombwell Mains War Contribution

Altogether 514 men from the Wombwell Main Colliery joined the forces during the war. Of these 58 fell in action.

A memorial fund has been opened, and the men and the management are combining to present gold medals to the returned men and gold lockets and chains to the widows of the fallen.
