Romantic Union of Two Old Families

Presentation to Mr. Peter Roberts

Mr. Peter Godfrey Roberts, only surviving son of Sir Samuel Roberts, Bart., chairman of the Wombwell Main Collieries Ltd., and of Lady Roberts, of Cockley Cley, Norfolk and Endcliffe Cottage, Sheffield, brought his fiancee to Wombwell on Saturday.

It was announced on October 2nd this year that Mr. Roberts had become engaged to Miss Judith Randell Hempson, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randell G. Hempson, of 60, Riverdale Road, Sheffield. The marriage is to take place at St. Michael’s, Chester Square, London, on Tuesday, December 5th.

Mr. Peter Roberts has been a director at Wombwell Main since he attained his majority six years ago, and Miss Hempson’s father is also a member of the Board. Mr Peter Roberts is also a director of the Barnsley District Coking Company

The news of Mr. Roberts’ engagement to Miss Hempson was received with great pleasure at Wombwell Main and in Sheffield where they are both well known.
