Wombwell Main are going great guns. On 1 Saturday, at Wombwell they knocked the stuffing out of Rotherham, who, however, did not put in a very strong team.
Batting first, the home team made the best of a favourable wicket, and at the fourth wicket down had far exceeded the century.
“Ted” Thomas, the Wombwell captain, who went in first wicket down, batted a wonderful innings reaching a total of 69, when he was caught by Parkin.
Wombwell Main “declared” at the eighth wicket down. Carr for the home club, secured six wickets for 40 runs.
