Wombwell Local Board Election
The result of the annual election for the Wombwell Local Board was made known on Saturday evening. There were five gentlemen nominated for three seats.
The contest evoked but little interest, inasmuch as the old members were generally considered to be the most eligible gentlemen fur the management of the town’s business.
The voting was as under:—
- Gray, colliery manager, Wombwell Main, 1114
- Hobson, farmer, Jump, 1010
- Mitchell, mining engineer, Bolton Hall, 888
- I Millington, innkeeper. Jump, 362
- H. Taylor, gentleman. Wombwell Hall, 327.
The first three named were the retiring members.
