Wombwell Joining Up With Jump and Hoyland

Wombwell Urban, Council last night Instructed the Clerk (Mr. K. M. Walker) to proceed with negotiations for the acquisition housing site of over five acres In Wentworth Road, Wombwell, at the price of £475. Development of the site will a further step in building up the open spaces between Wombwell, Jump and Hoyland.

The Council also approved the construction 98 houses private builder off Hough Lane, Wombwell, and for housing purposes decided to borrow £5,865 at £3 12s. Bd. per cent,, repayable In Instalments over twenty years, from the West Riding Superannuation Joint Committee.

The Council appointed Mr. Herbert Stone, of Sheffield, surveyor’s assistant, at £200 a year rising to a maximum of £250
