Wombwell Child’s Terrible Death

A verdict of “Accidental death” was returned Barnsley inquest, yesterday, the body Laura Wydell, the three-year-old child of of a Wombwell trammer, who died from scalds.

While at play on Thursday last the child, in the temporary absence of her mother, climbed on top of the copper, in order to get the rolling pin, it was supposed. Stepping on the lid, it apparently gave way and she fell into the copper, which was nearly full of boiling water.

The mother found the child in this terrible position. She was sent to the hospital, where she died on Friday.
