Wombwell Boy Hero

The Wombwell Urban Council has decided to recommend to the notice of the Royal Humane  Society,  Ernest Simpson (13), Hawson Street,  Wombwell, for the gallant rescue from drowning  of Frank Bassendale (3), Hawson Street,  Wombwell, on a recent occasion.

Simpson is a  scholar of the Park Street School, Wombwell, and  was taught swimming in the Wombwell Baths.
