Wombwell 0 Grimsby Town Reserves 0
Under wretched conditions Wombwell played a goalless draw with Grimsby Town Reserves at Wombwell.
A bitter east wind swept the ground and rain fell in torrents.
The conditions seemed to affect the playerss tempers and the referee had to keep a tight hold on the game.
At one point Wombwell had only eight men on and Brown, their right-half back did not turn out at all in the second.
Grimsby showed slightly superior combination but there was no resisting dash.- Grimsby had a narrow escape in the last minute.
