Woman Succumbs To Injuries
Buried In Same Grave as Husband
Tragic Outing
The accident on the Haxey-Misterton Road on Sunday, July 3rd, in which Charles .. Frederick Dook (32), of 13, Foulstone Row, Wombwell, lost his life, and his wife,- Dorothy Dook (29) was seriously injured, had a further tragic sequel on ‘Saturday when Mrs. Dook died from • her injuries in Doncaster Infirmary.
At the time of the accident Mrs. Dook , was riding pillion on her husband’s , motor-cycle which collided head on with a car driven by the Rev. H. A. Grate; Vicar of Misterton. The Vicar and one of his passengers were injured.
At the inquest, fully reported it was shown that Mrs. Dook was§ thrown twenty-seven feet by the force off the impact.
Married Eight Years.
Mrs. Dook was the second daughter of Mrs. Ellen Wilson, of 125, High Street, West Melton, and the late Mr. Arthur Wilson.
For ten years she had had charge of a sweet shop in the Empire Theatre buildings, High Street, Wombwell.
The couple had been married about eight years and had no children.
The interment of Mr. Dook took Place at Wombwell Cemetery, on Wednesday of last week, the service being conducted by the Rector, Canon J. St. Leger Blakeney.
The princip’al mourners were: Mr. and, Mrs. F. N. Dook (father and mother); Mrs., Siggers, Hendon, London (sister); Mr. John W. Dook, of Bexley Heath.. Kent (brother); Mrs. Banks, Barnsley (sister); Miss Jean Dook, London (sister); Mrs. Hadfield, Doncaster (aunt); Mrs. Bailey, Wombwell (aunt); Mrs. Wilkinson, Wombwell (aunt); Mrs. Beaumont, Doncaster (aunt); Mrs. J. Dook, Doncaster (aunt); Mrs. Smith; Mrs. Rayw9rth (Leeds); Mrs. Hudson; Mrs. Woodall. Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson, .Mr, and Mrs. Gerald Wilson, Mrs. A. Wilson, and Mr. Frederick R. Wilson.
