Double Wedding at Wombwell
Clarke – Kiddy ; Snead – Kiddy
Two Brampton brothers, Messrs. Albert Edward and Thomas William Kiddy, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kiddy 11, Dearne Road were married at Wombwell Parish Church on Saturday.
Their brides were Miss Mary Clarke 38, Station Road, Wombwell, and Miss Violet Snead, 2, Hadfield Street, Wombwell.
Miss Clarke was given away by her brother, Mr. John Clarke, and wore flame satin with black coatee, and carried white chrysanthemums.
Misses Ella Wake and Maggie Clarke, her maids, wore green lace satin and black hat, and carried yellow chrysanthemums. Two little maids, Sheila Hurd and .loan Clarke wore white and lemon silkĀ respectively Mr. Edward Williams was best man and Mr. Charles Wentworth groomsman.
Miss Violet Snead was given away by her sister, Miss Doris Snead, and wore pale blue satin and carried white chrysanthemums. Her maids were Misses Jennie May Snead, Phyllis Bishop and Kathleen Kelly. The first wore blue silk and the other two pink satin. They carried pink chrysanthemums. The best man was Mr. Harry Lane. The Rev. St. Leger Blakeney conducted the ceremonies.
