Wedding – Scargill & Rowan.

The wedding took place at Wombwell Parish Church on Saturday of Miss Annie Scar-gill, fifth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Scargill, Elliott’s Terrace. Wombwell, and Mr. Michael Rowan, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Rowan, Wombwell Junction.

The bridegroom is a well-known local footballer. For a period he was with Mexborough, and now plays with Brampton Road.

The bride wore white lace, and the maids, Misses Clara and Alice Scargill, pale green silk. Their bouquets were of chrysanthemums.

The best man was Mr. Herbert Winder, and the groomsman Mr. Norman Scargill. Mr. John Scargill gave his sister away. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. St. Leger Blakeney’
