Wedding – Royston & Skews
At Darfield Parish Church on Boxing Day, Miss Constance Mary Royston, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J Royston, School Street, Darfield, was married to Mr Edgar Skews, Lundhill, Hemingfield.
The bridegroom is a prominent member of Lundhill football club. Given away by her brother, Mr Cecil Royston, the bride look charming in a gown of blue satin with Diamante trimmings and fur trimmed coat. She also wore a long blue silk embroidery net veil with coronet of orange blossom, and blue and silver shoes. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums.
The bridesmaid, Miss Eileen Briggs, wore flowered silk with a picture hat, and she carried lilac and chrysanthemums.
The duties of the best man were carried out by Mr Peel (Wombwell) and those of groomsman by Mr Harold Royston.
The Reverend L Tippett performed the ceremony. About 50 guests were later entertained by the bride’s parents.
