Wedding – Rose & Scott

At Wombwell Parish Church on Saturday the wedding took place of Miss Mabel Scott, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Scott, John Street, Wakefield. and Mr. Irving Rose, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rose, 134, Broomhill, the Rev. R. J. Jones officiating.

The bride wore pale blue ninon and carried tulips. She was given away by her brother, Mr. T. Scott. Mr. C. Good was best man and Mr. T. Ives groomsman. The maids, Misses Clara and Elsie Scott, wore green georgette with black picture hats. Misses Bessie and Lorna Wilks as maids of honour, wore lemon silk and carried sheaves of daffodils.

A reception was held at the bridegroom’s home. The bride was formerly employed at a mill in Wakefield, and among the numerous presents were a tea service and shopping basket from her fellow employees. The bridegroom is a playing member of the Broomhill Mission Cricket Club.
