At Wombwell Parish Church on Saturday Miss Alma Ethel Richards, daughter of Mrs. Richards, of 7, Beech House Road, Hemingfield, and the late Mr. Frank Harold Richards, was married to Mr. Arthur Hudson, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hudson, of 104, Park Street, Wombwell.

The service was conducted by the Rector, Canon J. 8L Leger Blakeney. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. Francis Monaghan, wore a Tudor gown of parchment velvet, with a veil of Brussels lace and a coronet of orange blossom. Her bouquet was of bronze chrysanthemums.

The bridesmaids were Miss Stella Hudson, Miss Jean Hudson and Miss Jean Hartis. The first mentioned wore a dress of pale green velvet, with head-dress of leaves and flowers to tone. She carried gold chrysanthemums. The two younger maids were in bronze velvet, trimmed with gold ribbon and bonnets and muffs to match. The best man was Mr. William Hudson (brother of the bridegroom) and the groomsman Mr. Harold Creighton Clegg (cousin of the bride). The bride’s mother wore a green tailored coat, with velour hat, and the bridegroom’s mother a blue tailored coat, with hat to tone. Both carried sprays of pink carnations. The reception was held at the home of the bride.

The bridegroom gave the bridesmaids brooches. The bridegroom received a crystal reading lama from his colleagues on the staff of the Raley Senior School, Barnsley, and a cut-glass fruit bowl from the Eldon Street School. Barnsley.
