Weddings – James & Briggs

Fred Briggs, former Wombwell footballer, now with Rotherham, the youngest son of Mr and Mrs Briggs, Mitchell Terence, was married at Wombwell Parish Church on Monday to Miss Muriel James, second daughter of Mr Mrs William James, 12, Elliott’s Avenue, Wombwell.

The bride was given away by her father and wote rose crêpe suede and carried bronze chrysanthemums. The maids, Mrs Hazel James, John Walker and Freda Tunstall (daughter of the Sheffield United player, wore blue silk.

The best man ws Mr Tmas Wheatley, a well known Midland League footballers and the groomsmen were Messra. A. Ellus and s walker.

The Rev, J.St.Leger Nlakeney officiated, and the reception was held in the Horse Shoe Hotel.
