Mr. H. Short (Jump) and Miss E. M. Hampshire (Swinton).

The marriage was solemnised at Swinton Parish Church of Mr. Harold Short, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Short, of 53, Church Street, Jump, and Miss Edith Mary Hampshire, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hampshire “Hampson,”29, Racecourse Road, Swinton.

The bride chose a two-piece in ice blue with brown accessories and carried pink chrysanthemums. She was given away by her father, and attended by Mrs. H. Harper and Miss A. Short in brown marocain dresses with hats to tone and carried bronze chrysanthemums.

Best man was P. C. Short, and groomsman Mr. H. Harper. The honey moon was spent at Scarborough, the bride travelling in a Wedgewood blue two piece.

The bride is cashier at Messrs. Ward and So: (Swinton) Ltd., and among the many presents were a cheque from the firm and a pewter teapot, sugar basin and cream jug from her colleagues.
