Mr. P. Hanson (Wombwell) and Miss C. Ellis (Brampton)

The wedding took place at Wombwell on Saturday of Miss Clara Ellis, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Ellis, of 37, Dearne Road, Brampton, to Mr. Percy Hanson, youngest son of Mr. Willie Hanson of 48, Aldham Cottages., Wombwell, and the late Mrs. Hanson.

Given away by her father, the bride wore white satin with veil and wreath of orange blossom and earned cream roses. The bridesmaids were Misses Mary Firth, Sylvia Kay, Evelyn Ellis, Annie Ellis and Patricia Camm. Miss Firth wore pale mauve satin and carried pink carnations; the other four had dresses of pink satin with Dolly Varden hats and carried sheaves of daffodils. The bride’s mother wore a rust coloured dress and carried a spray of daffodils.

Best man was Mr. John Hanson and groomsman Mr. John Ellis. A reception was held at Cortonwood Methodist Church.
