Wedding – Cudmore & Bullivant
The wedding took place at Whipton, Exeter, on Saturday, of L/Ac. H. E. Bullivant, R.A.F., V.R., only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Bullivant, of York Street, Wombwell, to Miss Eileen Cudmore, only daughter of Mr. C .Cudmore, Inspector of the Ministry of Works, and Mrs. Cudmore, of 73, Latimer Road, Whipton, Exeter.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a two-piece in dusky pink marocain with spray of carnations, and hat and shoes to tone, and carried a Prayer Book.
Her only bridesmaid, Miss Rita Cooney, wore a dress of primrose satin with head-dress of real flowers and carried meet peas. Both bride and bridesmaid wore gold bracelets, gifts of the bridegroom. Best man was L/Ac. Davis, of the R.A.F., and groomsman Mr. E. Cudmore, only brother of the bride.
After the reception given by the bride’s mother, the couple travelled to Yorkshire for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a grey costume. As the couple left the church the bride’s staff colleagues presented her with a sheaf of flowers and a souvenir horseshoe. Presents included a canteen of cutlery from the office where the bride is employed, and a cheque from Mr. Albert Leake, manager of the Futurist Hall, Wombwell, where the bridegroom was a member of the band before Joining up.
