Miss Ella Cocking, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H.,Cocking, of 35, Station Road, Wombwell, was married at Wombwell Parish Church on Saturday to Mr. Herbert Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Jackson, of 27, Foley Avenue, Wombwell.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a gown of white figured satin beaute, the veil falling from a coronet of small flowers. Her bouquet was of pink tea roses.
There were six bridesmaids, Misses Joan and Ethel Cocking in pink satin. Misses Gladys and May Binney in blue satin, and Doreen Binney (9) and Maureen Ellerway in white net. The four older bridesmaids carried pink car- nations, and the small ones sweet peas.
Best man was L/Cpl. Eric Binney, and groomsmen Mr. Wilfred Cocking and Mr. Ralph Binney. The reception was held at the Miners’ Arms, Wombwell. The bridegroom gave the bridesmaids gold signet rings and silver bangles.
