Mr. Joseph Smith, a member of the Mitchell Main Cricket Club, and younger son of the secretary, Mr. J. C. Smith, and Mrs. Smith of 101.Netherwood Road, Wombwell, was married at Wombwell Parish Church on Saturday to Miss Edith Bannister, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bannister of 47, Bartholomew Street, Wombwell.

The bride served as attendant on Wombwell “beauty” Queens for two successive years. The ceremony was performed by the Rector of Wombwell, Canon J. St. Leger Blakeney, in the presence of a large company of friends.

Given away by her father the bride wore white slipper satin with tulle veil and wreath of orange blossom. Her bouquet was of pink tea roses and she wore a gold watch the gift of the bridegroom
