Wombwell Enter Final of Yorkshire Competition.

Last night, at Wath baths, Wombwell beat Wath  3-2 in the replayed semi-final of the Yorkshire District Water Polo Competition.

Wath had the better of the play in the first half, and Wombwell were fortunate to turn round only one goal down—scored by Tavender.

About half-way through the second half Dr. Thompson equalised, and as there was no further scoring extra time was played. Wombwell, who were now the stronger team, took the lead through A. Hessam, but soon afterwards K. Scholey equalised. A minute from time J. Hessam scored the winning goal for Wombwell. The match, which had been replayed by order the Competition committee, following an objection Wombwell, attracted crowd of about 400.
