Tradesman Victim of Coal Dispute

The registrar, at Sheffield bankruptcy court yesterday in closing the public examination of William Wragg, Butcher of 9 Hawson St, Wombwell said the debtor impressed him as an honest man who had been a victim of the coal dispute.

Wragg’s statement of affairs showed liabilities of £969 3s 9d and assets of £296.

He had been carrying on business at Brampton Bierlow, Wombwell and Chapeltown, and stated that losses in cattle dealing and the coal dispute had caused his failure.
