This Might Have Been a Million to One Chance!

With three centuries to his credit Harry Utley holds a record at Wombwell Main and. at the age of 40 could still do the club a lot of good in Council cricket.

Wombwell Main have certainly qualified for promotion, and the result of their application for higher status is awaited with every confidence. They can rely on the support of all local clubs.

Meanwhile Wombwell Foundry had the unhappy experience of falling just short of their ambition at Darfield, Adwick beating them in a test match (for the final of Section B.1 of the South Yorkshire League.

So the million to one chance of the two South Yorkshire League championships going to clubs using the same ground went by the board. Hard luck. Foundry!
