The Wombwell Greyhound Track
This picture shows the progress of the work on the new greyhound racing track at Wombwell. The two men on the right are standing in what is known as the “pent-track,” in which the bogey carrying the mechanical hare will run. The hare and hounds will run on the upper level.
The track of 500 yards has to be relaid and turfed.
The “pent-track” is to be covered so that, of the mechanical arrangements, only the hare will be visible.
