The Last Throw

About 50 competitors took part in an angling match held at Wombwell last Saturday under the auspices of the Wombwell branch of the Sheffield and District Angling Association.
Not a single fish was caught, and no competitor reported even a “bite.”

Competitors, after casting their lines in vain, were reduced to casting lots for the prizes. The fishermen in the picture is shown making a last desperate throw.
