Brothers Serving
Mr. and Mrs. William Oughton, of 9, Wright Crescent, Wombwell, have two sons and both are in the Army.
William Derrick (19) is serving in his father’s old regiment, the K.0.Y.L.I., while Russell (17 ½ ) is in the Leicesters. They were regarded in Wombwell as “inseparables,” and their one ambition is to get- together again.
Both enjoy Army life, and Derrick at least intends to make it his career. Derrick attended Wombwell Open Air School and Russell Park Street (Wombwell) Council School. Both finished at Wombwell Modern School and were working at Darfield Main Colliery when they joined up.
