A well-known member of a Wombwell family of scouters, James William Lines (25), (picture) son of Mr. and Mrs James Lines, 42, Mellor Road, Wombwell, has joined the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
An old boy of Park Street Council School, Wombwell, He later worked at Darfield Main Colliery. Recently he has been working as a waiter in hotels in London.
His brother, Signaller Cyril Lines (30), 49, Barnsley Road, Wombwell, a former assistant scoutmaster at Wombwell, is serving abroad in the Royal Corps of Signals.
Another brother, Mr. E. E. Lines, who served in the Great War and is now a special constable, is Assistant District Commissioner of Scouts at Wombwell.
Mr. E. E. Lines’s son, Jeffrey (19), a former Scout troop leader, is serving in the Royal Air Force.
