Two Years Service

Though he has not yet had his 21st birthday, L/Cpl. Arthur Wroe, son of Mr. E. S. Wroe, secretary of Wombwell Chamber of Trade, and Mrs. Wroe, High Street, Wombwell, has already served two years in the Royal Armoured Corps.  He has recently been home on leave.

An old boy of John Street Council School and Wombwell Modern School, L/Cpl. Wroe was studying at Barnsley Technical College when he joined up, leaving a post as confidential secretary to the manager of Barrow Coking Company.

He is a grandson of Mr. A. J. Wroe, formerly Vice-President of Barnsley Co-operative Society.
