Formerly assistant manager at several shops of the Meadow Dairy Company in this district. Pte. Ellis Thompson (26), youngest of the six sons of Mrs. Thompson. of 38, Summer Lane. Wombwell, and the late Mr. Arthur Thompson, has landed in a Job to his liking as a storekeeper in the R.A.O.C.

Writing home, he says this is the sort of “Joint” he has always fancied and is glad to have been transferred from another regiment for the purpose.

Pte. Thompson’s family have served In two wars. His brother Arthur was wounded on the Somme on July 1st, 1916. Pte. Thompson, who joined up in May last year, says he receives the news every week through the “Times” and never falls to pass it on to his chums. He is fit and well.
