Eight Year’s Abroad

Bombardier John William Taylor (27), son of Mrs. Mary Taylor, 15, Stubbs Road, Wombwell, has just completed his first leave for eight years.

He enlisted in 1933, and the following year was drafted to Egypt where he was stationed until recently. He has been in many action, his “fighting” record including Lybia and Eritrea.

Through heavy battles he has passed without a scratch, but on the voyage home was seriously ill with fever and pneumonia.
