Got Medals For It

Wornbwell’s reputation for sport has been carried into the Army by Bombardier A. E. Scargill. second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Scarglll, of 74, Barnsley Road. Wombwell, who is serving in the Royal Artillery.

Since joining the Army, Bdr. Scargill has certainly “seen the world.” Though a comparatively young soldier he has already spent four years in Hong Kong and one at Malta.

While out East he won several silver cups and medals for rowing, and has also been a keen rugby football player.

He left good work at Byfleet, Surrey, to re-enrol as a reservist on the outbreak of war.
