Land and Sea Family

The Navy and Army are both represented in the family of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Picker, of 30. Aldham Cottages, Barnsley Road, Wombwell, the first by Seaman George Picker (20), and the latter by Private J. T. Picker (29), of the Green Howards.

Both are former scholars of John Street Council School, Wombwell.

Seaman Picker formerly worked at Darfield Main and has been serving since last May. He is single.

Private Picker is married and has one child, his home address being 149, Barnsley Road, Wombwell. He joined up six months ago, leaving the position of assistant manager of the Barnsley Road Branch of the Barnsley Co-operative Society.
