Teacher Dies of Wounds

Signaller Thomas Sagar (25), eighth and youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sagar, 24, Preston Avenue Jump, Wombwell has died of wounds while in enemy hands in the Middle East, after having a leg amputated.

Signaller Sagar was trained for teaching at Sheffield ‘Training College and before going to John Street School, Wombwell was on the staff of King’s Road Council School.

He married Miss Cecily Randerson of Darfield, and they have a baby eight months old.
