Football In China

Among the Jump lads who served a long apprenticeship in arms before the present was started is Sgt. James. E. Peake, son of Mr Ted Peake, 8 Fitzwilliam Street.

Formerly well-known in local football he has played soccer in the Army and has even had the pleasure of playing before a Chinese crowd at Hong Kong.

Before joining the Scots Guards 12 years ago he played for jump school, Jump Village and Worsbrough Dale.  He was formerly employed at Elsecar Main and Wombwell Main.
